I absolutely love the power of twitter! A place where personal and professional passions collide and people can express themselves and find their tribe.

The junior devs on my Twitter feed are continuously creating a supportive and inquisitive environment for their community. And what’s even better? Senior devs and leaders in the industry are engaging, empowering and helping them increase both their technical skillset and personal confidence.

So take a look at some of the awesome humans that regularly make my day with their tweets. Throw them a follow and help them out where you can. Perhaps you have wisdom to share, an intro to make, or you can simply enjoy the thoughts and stories of some incredibly eager and passionate juniors taking the tech industry by storm.

12. Gabe Wong

@gabrielwongau (Melbourne)

From financial planning to backend/devops engineer, Gabe is a committed and focused junior dev bringing us some great quotes, food for thought and sharing his journey!

11. Nele

@nelethecoder (Brisbane)

It’s not easy to put yourself out there and blog about your journey. I really respect the time and effort Nele has put into documenting her experiences. Check out her blogs rewiring mum brain and gaining confidence.

10. Ali

@alikillenit (Brisbane)

Positivity, science fiction, cats, and sharing her coding story - Ali brings the best attitude to social media. Whether shes getting involved with DevOpsGirls, playing around with pixel art or sharing her new equipment finds (featuring JJ the cat). Ali’s passion for coding is so awesome to see, she will make an epic, hardworking, culture magnet for her first gig as a junior dev.

9. Simon Curran

@simo_sultan (Brisbane)

Originally a Civil/Structural Engineer, a Driver Trainer and a Business Owner, Simon is now pursuing his dream of becoming a programmer. It’s so great to see his Twitter feed filling up with questions, wins, accomplishments and sharing of resources.

8. Ryan Challen

@ryanchallen (Brisbane)

A huge advocate for the increasingly diverse industry that is tech, Ryan is a community driven individual passionate about making tech a more inclusive place. Proud geek and master of dad jokes!

7. Cat Stevens

@catcstevens (Sydney)

Sharing her coding journey and lessons learnt doing a bootcamp as a 42 year old mum, Cat is one to watch. Check out her tweets for CodePen creations and side projects. You can also view her blog here.

6. Carlie Hamilton

@bluecodethree (Brisbane)

Currently working as a software engineer at Work180, Carlie is a community champion and huge advocate for women in tech! She is a regular mentor at coding workshops like MusesJS and SheCodes, as well as a supportive alumna for current students studying to become developers at Coder Academy. An ex-teacher, vim wizard, kick-ass mum, karaoke queen, ramen lover and all round awesome human, Carlie’s Twitter feed shares so much info about what’s happening in the tech community.

5. Julie Giles

@jules_giles (Sydney)

Who doesn’t love a good drawing visualisation to help embed that knowledge? What a great way to share your journey into tech, I can’t wait to see what other creative ways Julie tells her story and demonstrates her skills.

4. Jo Dunham

@codetravelled (Sydney)

A Twitter legend, Jo Dunham shares cool creations and does a fantastic job at engaging with her online community. She is now teaching other juniors to code and sharing her passion for tech with the Sydney and the world! 🙌

3. Jason Kim

@jason7288 (Brisbane)

It’s almost addictive following Jason’s journey with Javascript! His recent express.js app collects COVID-19 data from the COVID API four times a day. I think we should call him the Side Project King… I am SO excited to see where his career takes him! His future employer is a very lucky company 👏

2. Louise Flanagan

@flangerhanger (Sydney)

Dubbed the CSS Queen, Louise has just announced her role at Future Friendly (formally Mentally Friendly). She brings a wave of positivity to her Twitter feed as well as showcasing her fantastic creative work on CodePen and on paper (check out her Rupert Grint portrait!). Her portfolio is also a great place to check out her creations (my personal fav, Mario & Luigi).

1. Alex Leybourne

@alexleybourne (Brisbane)

His Twitter feed shows us his latest design builds, new framework experimentation and a very honest approach to the #100DaysofCode journey. Alex’s motivation, love of learning and ability to learn new tech is outstanding - not to mention that minimal, clean design aesthetic.

Thanks for reading! Please tag anyone you think I missed and tell me about their awesomeness on Twitter.
